Larson Manufacturing Uses eMaint CMMS to Increase
On-time Completion Rate by 53%
Larson Manufacturing is a leading manufacturer and distributor of storm doors in America. Larson looked for an effective CMMS solution with more responsive support, and a smooth transfer of historical data. Once Larson chose eMaint, everyone worked quickly to provide the company the help they needed, including a series of targeted, Web-based trainings. Larson noticed benefits such as an increase of 53% in completion rate from over-all work orders, and an improvement in the working relationship of operators and maintenance team, and Larson quantifies this benefit as “priceless.”
Larson Manufacturing is a leading manufacturer and distributor of storm doors in America and is based in Brookings, South Dakota. Larson chose eMaint CMMS as a replacement to their MP2 system.
The Larson maintenance and manufacturing engineering team sought a more effective CMMS solution than their previous system and a vendor that could provide stronger, more responsive support and services than they had previously received. They also wanted to ensure that their historical data would transfer smoothly and completely to a new CMMS.
Even before being selected as the vendor of choice, eMaint proved its ability to provide the Larson team with a complete data conversion in a timely fashion, which allowed them to better develop, set-up and understand the company’s system requirements. Working in partnership with Larson team members Jeff Buchman, mfg. engineering manager, and Curt Ness, maintenance supervisor, eMaint specialists configured Larson’s eMaint account – including screen layouts, field lookups and system options – to meet its objectives. In addition, eMaint team members provided a series of targeted, Web-based trainings in all aspects of the system to ensure that Larson personnel could easily transition to their new CMMS solution.
eMaint configured Larson’s control panel with Key Performance Indicators graphing downtime measurements and completion rates on types of work performed. In addition, through eMaint’s data conversion services, Larson was able to uncover over 500 inventory items that were inaccurately categorised previously. With the right system in place, they can now properly identify their critical spares and get accurate reports on the recommended parts reorder.
